Curriculum Vitae

Born in England in 1938, Alan Burden has lived in Mijas since 1983. He studied Art at Harrow College of Art from 1962 to 1965 gaining a National Diploma in Art and Design in Painting and Lithography. He then studied Art Education at The University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Receiving a Diploma in Art Education . From 1967 to 1983 he taught art in various education establishments but worked constantly as an exhibiting artist.
 
Since removing to Spain in 1983 he has been a fulltime professional Painter. His work ,mostly abstraction of landscape, though with brief diversions into anecdotal portraits, is ,at present, strongly influenced by his pre art college profession, that of development metallurgist, which gives rise to a more crystalographic, as well as topographic examination of Landscape.
